INTRODUCTION

As part of the use of its services and in particular the services available on its website, its mobile site and its mobile applications, Air Côte d’Ivoire (referred to as “the Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”), which is responsible for handling data, may collect and process your personal data.

Air Côte d’Ivoire is committed to protecting your personal data and considers that the protection of your privacy is a priority. This privacy policy explains the terms and conditions regarding the collection, use and protection of the privacy of your personal data.

What personal data do we collect ?

The types of personal data that we collect directly from you or third parties depend on the circumstances of the collection and the nature of the service requested or the transaction undertaken. This may include (but is not limited to):

  • a. personal information (for example: name, gender, date of birth, passport number, other national ID numbers and other personal identification numbers;
  • b. contact information, such as address, phone number and email address;
  • c. payment information, for example, credit or debit card information, including the name of the cardholder, card number, billing address and expiration date;
  • d. travel information, for example, flight information, the loyalty program membership number, seating, meals or other preferences;
  • e. health information, related to the organization of your travel or medical records and requests;
  • f. technical information, for example, IP address; and
  • g. statistical data, for example, the number of passengers and visits to the website.

When another person makes reservations on your behalf, you agree and you ensure that you have authorized the disclosure of your personal data and consent to the terms and conditions of the privacy policy. When you make a booking on behalf of another person, you state and guarantee that you have the person’s consent to provide his/her personal data.

In addition, when you book on behalf of children (less than 18 years old), you must make sure that you are over 18 years old, that you have the necessary authorizations, and that you have given your consent that the personal data be submitted to the user.    

How do we collect your personal data ?

This privacy policy covers all the personal data provided to us: 

  • a. during booking, flight check-in and the purchase of a ticket online;
  • b. via the online sites operated by us and our subcontractors;
  • c. under any other agreement or contractual arrangement;
  • d. via a third party, such as a travel agency.

We may also collect your personal data in the following manner (but not limited to):

  • a. communications with you by phone, letter, fax and email;
  • b. when you visit our website;
  • c. when you contact us in person;
  • d. when we contact you in person;
  • e. when we collect information about you from third parties; and other channels, including our ticket counters and airport operations.

Why do we use your personal data ?

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • a. to allow us to provide our services;
  • b. to facilitate your travel (for example: to book a flight) and freight arrangements;
  • c. to verify passengers’ identity and make luggage check-in
  • d. to facilitate online check-in;
  • e. to process transactions (for example, in-flight sales);
  • f. to facilitate your participation in our loyalty programs;
  • g. to protect your and/or other customers’ safety and well-being;
  • h. to investigate and respond to your complaints and inquiries;
  • i. to remind you to complete your booking and/or to offer our assistance (if, for example, you cannot do so due to technical difficulties;
  • j. for financial purposes, such as credit checks or other payment cards, accounting, billing and verification;
  • k. for business development purposes such as statistical and marketing analysis, systems testing, maintenance and development, customer surveys, customer relationships, to advise you on flight changes, or to assist with future transactions, such as identifying needs and preferences;
  • l. to comply with legal or regulatory requirements; and/or for any other purpose incidental to any of the purposes set out above. (“Purchase Goals “)
  • m. to provide information on promotions, offers, products, services and activities, update offers or other notifications related to your reservations;
  • n. for cross-marketing and communication with you regarding the products and services offered by us and our partners as well as our designated agents:
  • o. and/or for any other purpose incidental to any of the purposes set out above. (“Auxiliary Objectives”) (collectively, “Goals”)

Withdrawal of consent

Note that it is mandatory for the Company to process your personal data for the basic purpose as stated above, without which we will not be able to make travel arrangements for you. If we do not have your consent to process your personal data for incidental purposes, we will not be able to keep you informed of our future, new and/or improved services and products.

However, you can stop receiving promotional activities once you:

  • a. unsubscribe from the mailing list;
  • b. change the relevant account settings to unsubscribe
  • c. send a request to info@aircotedivoire.com

          

Who do we disclose your personal data to ?

We will not exchange nor sell your personal data to third parties. Your personal data will only be disclosed or transferred to the following third parties, named or authorized by the Company, which may be located within or out of Côte d’Ivoire for the purpose of achieving the goal:

  • a. our travel and freight service providers
  • b. airport authorities;
  • c. our other subsidiaries when necessary to facilitate your trip
  • d. credit card verification suppliers,
  • e. warehouse data;
  • f. IT service providers;
  • g. data analysis and/or marketing agency;
  • h. other third parties in order to process your business transactions;
  • i. llegal bodies authorized or required by law, for example in accordance with a warrant or summons issued by a competent court; and or
  • j. customs, immigration or other regulatory authorities that may be applicable to you; and or
  • k. personal safety and security.

In addition to the above, your personal data may also be disclosed or transferred to any actual or potential donor, assignee or purchaser of the Company (within or out of Côte d’Ivoire) (including our affiliates and subsidiaries) or our operations, group companies, or as part of any corporate or fiscal restructuring, including our restructuring to transfer the company, assets and/or liabilities.  We will take practical steps to ensure that their employees, executives, agents, consultants, contractors and other third parties mentioned above involved in the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will implement and abide by the terms of this privacy policy.  

Where do we store your personal data ?

We will keep the personal data in the country where we are based, that is to say in Cote d’Ivoire. However, the Company may have backup and storage servers located abroad. In addition, the Company will secure storage in the following manner in accordance with the minimum security measures prescribed in the Law Number 2013- 450 dated June 19, 2013;

  • a. register all those who are authorized to access it;
  • b. control and limit access based on necessity;
  • c. keep an appropriate register of access and transfer of personal data;
  • d. ensure that all the employees of the Company protect confidentiality;
  • e. carry out awareness programs for all the employees (if necessary) on the responsibility to protect personal data;
  • f. establish physical security procedures;
  • g. link third parties involved in the processing of personal data; and
  • h. prohibit the use of removable devices and cloud computing service to transfer or store personal data except with the written consent of the company’s management.   

How long can we keep your personal data ?

We will not keep your personal data for a long time. However, they may be kept subject to the conditions below:

  • a. according to legal requirements; or
  • b. where legal actions have been commenced and are pending.
  • c. the commercial/operational goals of Air Côte d’Ivoire

The Company will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all personal data are destroyed or permanently deleted when they are no longer required for the goal and will prepare a timetable for the elimination of data which have been inactive for a period of 24 months.

Changes to the privacy policy

Please note that this privacy policy may be amended from time to time in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and these changes may apply to you. The latest version of this privacy policy will be made available to all customers. Visit our application from time to time for updates on our privacy policy.

Links to a third-party website

We may link this website and/or our applications to other corporate or organization websites (collectively, “third party sites”). This privacy policy does not apply to these third party sites as these sites are beyond our control. If you access third party sites using the links provided, the operators of those sites may collect your personal information. Please ensure that you are satisfied with the privacy policy of these third party sites before submitting personal information.  We try, as far as possible, to ensure that all third party sites have equivalent measures for the protection of your personal information, but we cannot be held legally responsible for the activities, privacy policies or confidentiality levels of these third party sites.
