For travel within Côte d’Ivoire, the following documents are required depending on the age of the traveler:

From 0 to 3 years old

• Maternity booklet with photo + parental authorization for the absent parent, certified at the town hall,
• Or a health insurance card + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall:

From 3 to 12 years old

• School ID card + parental authorization from absent parent, legalized at Town Hall,
• Or a health insurance card + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall,
• Or a passport/ safe driving pass + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall,
• A parental authorization from both parents, legalized at the town hall + a photocopy of the father’s and mother’s national identity card (CNI) when the child is traveling with a third party,
• For foreign nationals, a residence permit + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall.

From age 13 to 17

• A school ID card + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall,
• Or a student card + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall,
• Or a certificate of identity / a safe conduct / a passport + a parental authorization of the absent parent, legalized at the town hall,
• Or a residence permit for foreigners + parental authorization from the absent parent, legalized at the town hall.

18 years and over

• An identity certificate,
• Or a safe driving / Passport / CNI / Driving license,
• Or a residence permit for foreigners.

NB : Parental authorization, legalized at the town hall, is required for all children under the age of 18, regardless of the child’s travel document.
